On January 16th, I started the conquer 90 Challenge. The Conquer 90 Challenge is a 90-day journey of self-accountability, helping you conquer your goals. The challenge is being part of the MTN OPS community. This year, MTN OPS has partnered with Rich Froning and Mayhem Hunt. Froning is an amazing CrossFit athlete and mountain biker (he was in the Leadville MTB 100 in 2024). I am doing this challenge with some co-workers. I am extremely proud of them for stepping out of their comfort zone.

MTN OPS is a local company close to me (they are based out of Utah). MTN OPS has amazing products (I use their supplements and wear their apparel during training and trail races). Their mission aligns with my values. They improve the lives of individuals and families in everything they do. Our commitment to you is made manifest through this proclamation. The journey of transformation spiritually, physically, mentally, and socially is a journey to conquer.

Earlier this week, I met with one of MTN OPS fitness specialists. I have to admit that my nutrition and macros were off balance. Since having sleeve surgery, I have been eating under 900 calories! That’s right! I have no idea how I managed to train and do CrossFit. My focus for this challenge is to become more lean and muscular. Muscle weighs more than fat. Plain and simple- I probably will never get to a suggested goal weight of 135 lbs. At first I was upset but now realize that I am athletic built and an athlete. My macros are 170 grams protein, 168 grams carbohydrates, 60 grams fat, and calories 1800. For the next 90 days I will be focused not only on my training but the upcoming:

  • I stay on track with my macros by eating clean foods. I drink plenty of water throughout the day, at least ½ my weight in ounces or more.
  • I hit my calorie goals. This provides my body with good fuel for training and recovery. It also helps to put on muscle.
  • Prioritizing protein intake.
